Description
The 600 grit Medium honers are the maintenance grit for the V-Sharp Classic I. Where a coarse rod is designed to reshape an edge, 600 grit is designed to keep a good edge good. It removes far less metal per stroke, so knives that are touched up weekly stay sharp for years instead of being slowly ground away, and the finish it leaves is noticeably smoother and cleaner-cutting than 325 grit.
Supplied as a genuine Warthog matched pair, blister-packed on the original card. Fit them as a permanent upgrade if your knives are already in good shape, or keep them alongside a coarse pair for a two-stage sharpen-then-refine routine.
Who this grit is for
- Regular touch-ups on knives that are already sharp
- Cooks who sharpen little and often rather than rarely and hard
- Slicing, carving and fillet knives where a smooth edge matters
- Refining a 270 or 325 grit edge before finishing with 1000 grit
How to use it
Two or three light pulls through the V is usually enough to restore a knife that has lost its bite. If the edge is genuinely dull, start with a coarse pair first — 600 grit will get there eventually but it is not built for heavy reshaping.
