Description
1000 grit Fine is the finest diamond hone available for the V-Sharp Xtreme Edge. It doesn't reshape or repair — it polishes. After a coarse or medium pass, a few strokes on the 1000 grit rods strip the burr and refine the bevel into a clean, glassy edge that glides through tomatoes, fish and thin-sliced meat without tearing. Used on its own for daily honing, it keeps a well-maintained knife at peak sharpness almost indefinitely.
Genuine Warthog Sharpeners honers supplied as a matched pair. Because 1000 grit removes so little steel, these are the rods to fit if you own quality Japanese, German or custom knives and want the sharpness without the wear.
Who this grit is for
- Final polishing after a 270, 325 or 600 grit pass
- Daily honing of chef's, santoku, fillet and carving knives
- Folding and EDC knives where a fine slicing edge is preferred
- Owners of premium knives who want to maximise blade life
How to use it
With the knife already sharp, draw it through the V two to four times with very light pressure — let the diamonds do the work. Test on paper: a properly finished 1000 grit edge slices cleanly with no snagging. If a knife won't take an edge on 1000 grit alone, it needs a coarser pair first.
