Description
The 270 grit Extra Coarse honers are the fastest-cutting rods available for the V-Sharp Xtreme Edge. When a knife has hit bone, been through the dishwasher for years, or simply hasn't seen a sharpener in a decade, a standard hone takes forever. The 270 grit diamond surface removes steel quickly and evenly, cutting a fresh, straight bevel in a handful of strokes and leaving you with a clean edge to refine.
Supplied as a genuine Warthog matched pair, blister-packed on the original card. Xtreme Edge hones slide straight onto the sharpener's arms with no tools, so swapping grits takes seconds and both sides of the V always sharpen at the same factory-set angle.

How to use it
Clip the 270 grit pair onto the Xtreme Edge, draw the knife through the V with light, even pressure until you feel a small burr along the full edge, then switch to a 325, 600 or 1000 grit pair to remove the burr and polish. On its own, 270 grit leaves a toothy, aggressive edge that is excellent for rope, cardboard and game; most users finish with a finer hone for kitchen knives.
