Description
325 grit Coarse is the standard hone fitted to the V-Sharp Classic I at the factory, and for most people it is the only grit they will ever need. It is fast enough to take a dull kitchen knife to a working edge in five or six pulls, yet fine enough to leave a clean, usable finish without a second stage. If your Classic has slowed down and the blade seems to glide over the rods instead of biting, this is the direct like-for-like replacement.
Every pack contains a matched pair of genuine Warthog diamond honers. Replacing both rods together keeps the sharpening angle identical on each side of the blade, which is what gives the V-Sharp its consistent, symmetrical edge.
Who this grit is for
- Everyday sharpening of chef's, utility, bread and paring knives
- Hunting, skinning and camp knives that get hard use
- Anyone replacing worn original rods and wanting the same performance as new
- Homes, restaurants, butcheries and biltong makers sharpening several knives a week
How to use it
Rest the knife heel-first in the V, draw it through toward the tip with light pressure, and repeat on alternate strokes until the edge bites paper cleanly — usually 5 to 10 pulls on a moderately dull knife. For a razor finish, follow with the 600 or 1000 grit pair.
