Master blender’s notes:
The espresso drinker…somebody who settled in enjoying solid coffee taste in high dosages. Designing an espresso blend is a beautiful challenge and in Mostra’s case it ended up involving 7 different types of 100% Arabica coffees.
This blend’s 1st element is coffee originating from Marcala, a region of Honduras surrounded exclusively by coffee farms. Coffee that reveals Cocoa & Malty aromas, green grape notes & dried fruits, mild acidity & medium body (Growing Altitude: 1350 to 1600 meters / Variety: Arabica Cattura, Typica & Cayuai / Milling Process: Fully washed).
Next element to this blend, coffee that originates from central south Ethiopia and more specifically Yirgacheffe where coffee beans is all that happens in the area (Growing Altitude: 1800 to 2200 meters / Variety: Arabica Typica / Milling Process: Washed).
It is nearly impossible to have Brazilian coffees being absent from this creation, a region that offers coffee that brings balance to any blend. Coffee of noticeable smoothness & sweetness (Growing Altitude: 800 to 1350 meters / Variety: Arabica Catuai / Milling Process: Dry).
Toasty coffee notes, stable body & clear after taste are elements contributed by the 4th in line coffee involved in this blend with its origin being Guatemala (Growing Altitude: 1600 to 1700 meters / Variety: Arabica Caturra / Milling Process: Wet).
The next coffee used in this blend comes from an area close to Sipi falls and on the western slopes of Mt. Elgon within Uganda. In considerable dosages, coffee from these parts of the world will contribute noticeable bitterness to the cup (Growing Altitude: 1300 to 2200 meters / Variety: Arabica Typica / Milling Process: Fully washed).
The 6th coffee used in this blend comes from an eastern Africa country known for its vast wilderness areas and famous coffee regions – Tanzania. Coffee that reveals fruity & citrus notes with medium acidity & solid body (Growing Altitude: 1400 to 2000 meters / Variety: Bourbon, Typica / Milling Process: Fully washed).
Finally, the last coffee partaking in this dance of tastes comes from the heart of Colombia. Coffee of underlined citrus like acidity & fruity flavour. (Growing Altitude: 1200 to 2000 meters / Variety: Arabica Bourbon / Milling Process: Fully Washed & Sun Dried).
