How to choose a blood pressure monitor
Upper arm or wrist?
For most adults an upper-arm monitor gives more consistent readings, because the cuff sits at heart level without you having to think about it. Wrist monitors are smaller and easier to travel with, but the wrist has to be held exactly at heart height for every reading, which is why clinics prefer the upper arm. Every upper-arm monitor below ships with a universal cuff for 22 to 42 cm; an XL cuff is available for larger arms.
Which features matter?
Arrhythmia detection flags an irregular pulse during the reading. It is a prompt to see a doctor, not a diagnosis. Memory for several users matters in a household where two people monitor. Bluetooth and the app turn a drawer of scribbled numbers into a chart you can show your GP; every Beurer monitor, Bluetooth or not, can also save readings to the app by scanning the screen. ECG, on the BM 96 Cardio, adds a single-channel ECG recording that can indicate atrial fibrillation.

Are your Beurer products genuine?
Yes. We buy from Beurer's official South African importer, which holds a SAHPRA medical device licence. That is why the warranty and spare parts are handled locally.
What is the warranty?
It is set per product by Beurer South Africa: up to five years on most blood pressure monitors and nebulisers, three years on hearing amplifiers. The exact term is on each product page.
How accurate are home blood pressure monitors?
Beurer's upper-arm monitors are built as certified medical devices, and several (the BM 27 and BM 28 among them) are clinically validated. Accuracy also depends on you: sit still for five minutes, feet flat, cuff at heart level, and take the average of two readings.
Which nebuliser is best for a child?
The IH 58 KIDS for travel and small spaces, the IH 26 KIDS for daily use at home. Both come with baby and child masks. The IH 58 KIDS is rated for use from six months.
Hearing amplifier or hearing aid?
A hearing amplifier makes sound louder for mild hearing loss and is sold without a prescription. A hearing aid is fitted by an audiologist to your hearing profile. If you have not had a hearing test, have one first.
How does a bite healer work?
It holds a small ceramic plate against the bite at around 50 °C for a few seconds. The heat is what settles the itching, so there is no cream, no smell and nothing to run out of. Beurer rates the BR range for use from three years old, with an adult working the button.
Do you stock replacement cuffs, masks and test strips?
Yes. Cuffs, mains adapters, nebuliser year packs, masks, thermometer caps, glucose test strips and hearing-amplifier care are kept in stock for as long as the importer supplies them.
How quickly will my order arrive?
Delivery takes 1 to 3 working days from our Johannesburg warehouse, free over R650. Collection from Honeydew is by arrangement only and not instant: we book the order out, pack it and confirm your ready-for-collection notification first.
Beurer and Sanitas in South Africa
Beurer was founded in Ulm, Germany, in 1919 and is still run from there, today with over 1,800 employees and products sold in 140 countries. It calls itself the German market leader for blood pressure monitors, and its home-health range runs from monitors and nebulisers to thermometers, scales and therapy devices. Sanitas is a Beurer brand: the same engineering, a simpler range, a sharper price. Both are imported and supported in South Africa by the official importer, and we stock them because we use them ourselves.
